As low morning temperatures started entering the forecast, I decided to add remote start to the Avalon. It’s so decadent to settle into a snugly warm car in the early morning. I’m truly enjoying it, and glad that I did. I had been looking into it for a while.
There are a few remote start options for the 2013 Avalon, but I chose a product offered by 12volt solutions. Installation couldn’t have been easier. They have perfect step-by-step video instructions, and the connection ports in the Avalon are very accessible. I liked how their product did not require me to program the car’s ECM, and allowed me to use the factory key fob without needing an additional remote. Although this limits range to that of the remote, there is a long-range option available that would give you control through your phone.

Very clear video instructions walk you through prepping the harness for your specific vehicle, and identify which connectors and plugs will be used. You’ll have access to complete step-by-step instructions, comprehensive installation videos and troubleshooting information.

The dash plug goes into the harness, and the harness plugs into the dash. Easy peasy. Likewise the plug in the steering column. When that’s in place, follow the 12volt steps to connect and program the module. Test everything, add some zip ties and close everything back up. Done!

I had messed up the initial programming step, so it didn’t work immediately. The troubleshooting steps saw me coming, and walked me through doing it right the second time. Absolutely wonderful product.
